THE BILLION DOLLAR MACHINE THAT WENT TO THE DOGS

Today we live in the most modern of the worlds. We have gadgets, appliances, machines and what not. Some of them are wonderful and intelligent too. We have excellent communication devices and we can voice-chat anywhere in the world in real-time. We take care of these machines in accordance with the users’ manual as all these hitech gadgets come with.

Let me tell you, the human body is so far the most amazing, complex and complicated machine this world has ever seen. It has a brain, a mind and some people say a soul too. Then there are so called etheric-body, causal-body, astral-body, pranic-body and so on and so forth. Still we can’t find a users’ manual to show us how to take care of this body.

We use it, misuse it and finally abuse it. The result is ominous. We suffer strokes and some of us leave for the heavenly abode all of a sudden canceling all the future assignments; leaving our near and dear in hapless sorrow and grief. This has been happening all the time. News item are replete with this.

We get our motor car serviced at intervals. We change the batteries when they get worn. We change oil and spares when they wear out. We fill in the right grade of fuel so that the car doesn’t give us trouble in the middle of road. Most of us believe in preventive maintenance of our cars and sign up with the authorized service centre so that they pick the vehicle on due date and return us in good repair.

Yet we fail to take care of our own human body. If it aches we take pain-killers; if we get fever, we pop some pills and move on with our agenda.

These are the signs through which our body tells us that it is time to give it a little break. But we in our stride try at best to ignore these tell-tale signs and carry on the important jobs which we have promised ourselves to fulfill as per some agenda we have fixed for ourselves. These signs are akin to a child who tries to draw attention of his parents to his needs and problems and when fails repeatedly takes on his own course and grows up to be a menace. Then it is too late and we end up trying to salvage the situation which has already gone out of hand.

So beware! Take good care of your health. Spend some time daily for exercise and introspection. Then everything will be all right.

  1. A fact of life about health has been stated by Sri Ramanuj Asawa in so simple and comprehensive manner. We take care of our manufactured (by human beings)gadgets, but, forget to do the same to our body and always take it for granted.
We must take complete care of our body as this is the only one that we have. It is only when we have good health that we can enjoy all our accomplishments.
